How can you make Convention more fun for you and everyone else?

Dress to the Theme!

We've got four meal events, each with a different theme, but all revolving around models, photographers, designers - fashion.   And Barbie on the Runway is all about FASHION!

The Go See Welcome Reception
Wednesday Evening

When models go on an appointment to see a photographer or editor, this meeting is called a "Go See".  They come with their book of photos and dress to impress.  Barbie on the Runway is all about fashion.  So, when you come to the Welcome Reception, make a Fashion Statement!  Dress period.  Dress contemporary.  Dress Mod.  Dress classic.  Wear fishnet tights.  Wear a Donna Reed shirtwaist.  Wear a "little black dress" or a big red one.  Dress with a point of view.  But, whatever your Fashion Statement is - make it emphatic and make it fun!

The Photo Studio Luncheon
Thursday Afternoon

Dress as a model, a photographer, a make-up artist, a hair stylist, a photographer's assistant, the fashion editor, or (shh...here she comes...) The Client!

The On Location Dinner
Friday Evening

Models go all over the world for fashion shoots.  Dress for your fantasy destination.  Wear clothing pertinent to your favorite place in the world (even if you've never been there).  It could be the South of France.  It could be the Arctic Circle.  It could be the beaches of Thailand or the Alps in Switzerland.  Dress for a Kenyan safari or Chinese New Year.

The Designer's Ball
Saturday Evening

This event is all about saluting fashion designers and the custom doll artists who are donating the fabulous centerpieces for this event.  So dress up is called for.  As formal as you like.  Make it a new evening gown or something vintage.  Haul out the bling and bejewel yourself.  For the gentleman, black tie would be wonderful, but we'd settle for seeing all of you in jackets and ties.  You'll look better and feel better.  Honest.
