Self-described BFMC® addicts Lorena Sullivan and Cheryl Burnett will take you on a journey through the history of this highly popular and sought-after line of Barbie® dolls. Their discussion will include a look at a number of rare, platinum-label dolls as well.

Creating a One of a Kind

The incredibly talented team of designers who comprise Magia 2000, Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, will discuss their process for creating a one-of-a-kind (OOAK) doll for a client. Starting with the initial consultation, you will learn about their work with design sketches, fabric choice, hair styling, and facial repainting. Then see the stunning conclusion – a reveal of the unique and intricate finished doll.

New dolls were sold in glamourous, fantastical, and career-savvy fashions. Accessories expanded to reflect the trends and indulgences of the 1980s. Join Dawn Arney-Moore, Chair of the National Collectors Convention Steering Committee, and Saul Vasquez, President of Windy City Collectors, as they explore this Decade of Decadence, as reflected in the Barbie® dolls of the times.
